Quick Start

Add UniCash to your Shopify checkout and have orders marked paid automatically. About 5 minutes.

You will do two things: add Pay with UniCash as a manual payment method, then connect your store so UniPay can mark orders paid. Both are guided step by step in your UniPay Dashboard under Settings, Integrations and Plugins, Online store.

Step 1. Add Pay with UniCash to checkout

  1. In your Shopify admin, open Settings, then Payments.
  2. Under Manual payment methods, click Add manual payment method, then Create custom payment method.
  3. Set the payment method name to exactly Pay with UniCash. UniPay matches on this name, so it has to be exact.
  4. Paste the buyer instructions from your UniPay dashboard. They tell the customer to send to your handle and put the order number in the payment note.
  5. Click Activate.

Step 2. Create a custom app and copy the token

  1. In your Shopify admin, open Settings, then Apps and sales channels, then Develop apps.
  2. Click Create an app, name it UniPay, then click Configure Admin API scopes.
  3. Tick read_orders and write_orders, then Save.
  4. Open the API credentials tab, click Install app, then Install.
  5. Click Reveal token once and copy the Admin API access token. It starts with shpat_.

Shopify shows that token once. Copy it before you leave the page. If you lose it, uninstall the custom app and create it again.

Step 3. Connect your store

  1. In your UniPay dashboard, open Settings, Integrations and Plugins, Online store and choose Shopify.
  2. Paste your store address and the Admin API access token.
  3. Click Connect store. UniPay verifies the token straight away and tells you if it is wrong.

Step 4. Place a test order

  1. Place an order on your own store and choose Pay with UniCash.
  2. Pay it from the UniCash app, sending to your handle with the order number as the payment note.
  3. Within about 90 seconds the order should move to paid in Shopify, and show as Paid in your UniPay order list.

If it is still Awaiting payment after a couple of minutes, click Sync now. If it stays awaiting, check the payment note carried the order number. See Troubleshooting.

Step 5. You are live

Nothing else to switch on. Every new Pay with UniCash order appears in your UniPay order list and is marked paid automatically when the payment arrives.
